Bandit’s Moonlight Rendezvous
WHAT: An opportunity to meet Bandit, the USO of Missouri’s Great Dane certified Therapy Dog. Tickets: $20 per person include two drinks and light appetizers
WHO: Bandit, who was rescued from a dog pound at 14 weeks, is now known for helping military members and their families.
SIGNIFICANCE: Bandit regularly provides comfort to recovering active duty members in hospitals, veterans in nursing homes and children at Fort Leonard Wood in south central Missouri.
He has also visited the Pentagon, Walter Reed Military Hospital and Arlington National Cemetery.
National Geographic recently published the book, “Loyal” which features Bandit as one of 38 dogs recognized for their bravery, heroism and devotion. Bandit was trained as a therapy dog after his owner, USO Ft. Leonard Wood Center director Kelly Brownfield, recognized his natural instincts to comfort people
Remember your loved ones and other special people this holiday season and help ensure that the USO of Missouri continues to support America’s troops and their families. With a contribution of $10 (per name), a personalized ornament will be displayed on the ‘USO of Missouri’s Tree of Thanks’ throughout the holiday season.
The ornament will be placed in memory of loved ones, to honor special family members/friends, or to display a simple message of thanks to the troops.
